It was through a work experience opportunity in high school that Mitchell discovered Surveying was the career for him. Wanting to work in a job that combined outdoor and indoor work he made the decision to enrol in a Bachelor of Spatial Science (Honours) (Surveying) with USQ.
'The main thing for me that separates USQ from other universities is that the class sizes are smaller, so most people in your class will know each other. The smaller classes mean that your lecturer knows you by name, and you’re never afraid to ask a question when you need to.'
'The lecturers have strong links within the profession, and I’ve been able to secure full-time surveying work through a USQ lecturer. It’s great because I can apply what I’m learning to hands-on situations.'
'My biggest motivator is the fact that I love the job. I know that I want to become great at what I do.'
