Teegan: Hi my name’s Teegan I’m a 2nd year nursing student here at USQ. So the Nursing course here at USQ involves both theory and prac and there’s an equal balance and so far being a 2nd year student I’ve done 3 placements.
I’ve done 2 weeks in an aged care and 8 weeks in medical and surgical and within those clinical placements I’ve got the experience because I’ve gone Rural and Remote where you get a broader aspect of nursing rather than just on 1 ward in a Metropolitan hospital.
I’ve found the facilities here at USQ great they’re very modern and it’s exactly like working in a hospital setting so it gives you that feel prior to working in a hospital.
So once I finish my nursing degree I hope to go into Rural and Remote nursing and I feel like USQ’s given the opportunity to fulfil that ambition.
