Rohan talks about creating a better future with Research at USQ
My name is Rohan and I'm a PhD student at USQ, and my research is about the behaviour of recycled mixed plastic waste to be used for the construction and building industry.
I believe that using recycled mixed plastics in the building and construction industry can reduce the plastic waste in landfill.
That's why I chose this particular field - so that I can make a change in this world, and make this world a better place to live in.
I believe that my research project of using recycled mixed plastics waste composites can be a solution for the construction and building industry.
Being at USQ, I always found that lecturers here are very much friendly, so whenever I have questions I can just pop into their office and ask them.
I'm very lucky that in USQ I have met many like-minded people who are fascinated about research. It's always good to talk about your research with other people.
They have their own ideas which can help me to improve my own research. From my own experience, going from Masters to Research degree - it definitely took my postgraduate studies to a whole new level.
PhD has given me the skills and knowledge that can further my career in research.
