Academic Calendar and Important Dates

In 2024, UniSQ is continuing to rollout an innovative and new Academic Calendar that allows you to better manage your study load and structure your own degree progression to balance work, family, and university commitments.

Plan for success and download the calendar relevant to your degree to see all key dates throughout the 2024 academic year. You can also filter important dates by your study period or find 2023 calendars below.

Trimester calendar

A study period of equal length occurring three times each year. Typically 14 weeks duration and includes a 2-week teaching recess, and a final assessment week.

2024 Trimester calendar

Semester calendar

A study period of equal length occurring twice each year. Typically 17 weeks duration and includes a teaching recess, and final two-week exam period. A third 13-week semester is offered over summer. 

2024 Semester calendar

Block calendar

A short 6-8 week study period that typically includes 6 weeks of teaching, an optional 7th week for assessment and a 1-week study break.

2024 Block calendar

Session calendar

An academic calendar that combines two 7-week blocks and two 14-week sessions, with a 2-week study break in between each study period.

2024 Session calendar

Research calendar

Graduate Research School calendar comprising eight 6-week study periods across the calendar year. Enrolment in the Research study periods is only available to students undertaking PhD studies.

2024 Research calendar

Year-long calendar

Three year-long study periods which align with the start dates for Trimesters and Blocks 1, 3 and 5 study periods. The year-long study periods facilitate the completion of clinical and professional placements which may fall outside of the standard study periods.
