This program aims to enhance Boeing’s processes by introducing Industry 4.0 frameworks, focussing on the development digital twin workflows for composite components which includes design, manufacturing, service, and MRO. These digital twin workflows will primarily be utilised for a case study focussed on the repair of composite components to eliminate both engineering and laborious processes leading to more efficient MRO of future spacecraft and aircraft fleets.
Design and generation of an overall flow for the composite product lifecycle considering interfacing inputs, but not including physical verification of those processes. This workflow will also work backwards through the lifecycle to ensure that laborious processes for the design of repair patches can be eliminated.

Creating a digital twin interface for a variety of repair technologies; interfacing between the physical and digital worlds. For example, the removal of the damaged region for repair is usually done by hand and commonly in the field. Development of a user friendly and accurate machining methodology that matches the designed repair patch is critical.
