Greenwood-Tomkys Scholarship in Nursing

In 2024, to support students commencing their studies in the Bachelor of Nursing, UniSQ will offer eight Greenwood-Tomkys Scholarships in Nursing.

The Greenwood-Tomkys Fund emerged from the Estate of the late Betty Greenwood and was established in conjunction with her late sister, Valery Tomkys. Betty, Valery, and their sister Lesley and their parents, Jack and Mary Tomkys, were long-term residents of Toowoomba with agricultural interests in Murphy’s Creek.

This fund, dedicated to the memory of the Tomkys family and Betty's husband Jim, functions as a platform for providing scholarships, bursaries, and additional educational support to students specialising in nursing and various allied health professions. Financial aid is extended to students encountering economic challenges in pursuing their studies.

Each Greenwood-Tomkys Scholarship in Nursing will have a maximum value of $24 000 to be paid over three years.
