Indigenous Student Success Program (ISSP) - Education Costs and Accommodation Costs Scholarships

In 2024, UniSQ will offer a number of Indigenous Student Success Program (ISSP) Education and Accommodation Costs scholarships to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students experiencing financial need, who are commencing or continuing their studies in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UniSQ.

Each scholarship is for a maximum of one year and will be paid once for the year, with applications open for Study Periods 1 and 2 2024.

Scholarships are awarded in the following two categories:

Education Costs Scholarship: to assist students with the costs of tertiary education. 

(Students in receipt of a Centrelink Student Start Up Loan, will not be eligible to receive an ISSP Education Costs Scholarship in the same period)

Accommodation Costs Scholarship: to support students with costs associated with relocating from a regional or remote area to study on-campus. 

(Students in receipt of a Centrelink Relocation Scholarship, will not be eligible to receive an ISSP Accommodation Costs Scholarship in the same period)

Students may be eligible for both an Education Costs and Accommodation Costs Scholarships.

Scholarship/s will be paid as a direct deposit at a rate of:

  • $4000 – application received for Study Period 1
  • $3000 – application received for Study Period 2

Students awarded both the Education Costs and Accommodation Costs Scholarships will be paid at the same rate for each scholarship.

New students will also receive a one-off payment of $1000 to assist with the costs of commencing study.
