USQ Advance Queensland PhD Scholarship

A USQ Advance Queensland PhD scholarship is available for a self-driven student to work in the area of Internet of Things (IoT)/Mobile Computing with expertise and interest in Machine Learning in particular in Artificial Neural Networks. The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work in an existing world-class collaborative environment encompassing USQ (awarding institute), CSIRO, QIMR and Queensland Health.

You will have access to High-Performance Computing Platforms, latest wearable devices (smart glass, smart watch), state-of-the-art smartphones with co-processor technology and valuable software licenses: like Matlab. In addition, you will be guided to grow as a successful researcher and will be given access to a large network of academia and industry to explore in your interest. Opportunities for doing internships with some of the top employers in the field will be created throughout the PhD candidature.

The USQ Advance Queensland  PhD Scholarship carries a stipend (living allowance) of $30 000. Payments are made on a fortnightly basis over the year.

In addition, the successful applicant will have their tuition fees funded for the standard duration of the PhD. Domestic students (Australian or New Zealand citizens, or Australian Permanent residents) will normally be allocated a RTP Fees Offset place that covers the payment of tuition fees. Alternatively, international students will be allocated a UniSQ International Fees Research Scholarship (IFRS).

The maximum period of tenure of an award is three years. Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree will be deducted from the period of tenure.
