What does a town planner do?

Have you ever wondered, what is town planning and what does a Town Planner do? Help shape the towns and cities we live in as a Town Planner (also known as an Urban Planner, City Planner, or Urban and Regional Planner). In this profession, you would use your expertise to create equitable, liveable, and sustainable spaces. Urban planning involves creating plans and policies to help cities grow while considering challenges such as traffic flow, environmental impact, social equality, and urban sprawl.

Your day-to-day as a town planner could involve analysing data to help make informed decisions about development, creating city plans, and collaborating with stakeholders (such as government, community members, and local businesses). Town planning jobs can be found in government agencies, private consulting firms, or not-for-profit organisations.
