At UniSQ we have two different Bachelor of Visual Arts majors to choose from, depending on your interests and career goals.

Curation, Innovation & Visual Arts - Explore the future of visual art and its application. Learn how to become an adaptable artist by gaining detailed knowledge of historical, ideological, critical and ethical perspectives.

Visual Art Studio Practice - Build upon your practical art-making skills and techniques to help form your identity as an emerging artist. Gain advanced studio-based learnings and technical proficiencies to become a skilled visual arts professional within a variety of contemporary settings.

Continue to enhance your theatre skills and knowledge and use your Bachelor of Visual Art as a stepping-stone to further studies, such as our Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours). 

University pathway programs provides students with an entry point to their chosen uni degree without an ATAR score. At UniSQ our pathways accommodate different students’ needs because we understand everyone’s journey to university is unique. Whether it’s been some time since you’ve last studied, you haven’t completed high school, or you’re making a career switch, we’ve got you covered.

If you don’t meet the entry requirements to study a Bachelor of Visual Art, we have a pathway option available to you.

The duration of a Bachelor of Visual Art may vary depending on the education provider you choose to study with.  At UniSQ, an undergraduate Visual and Performing Arts degree, such as the Bachelor of Visual Arts usually takes 3 years of full-time study. Some students choose to study part-time which increases the time it takes to complete the required courses.

The benefit of flexible study is that you can balance your life, work and family commitments by studying our Bachelor of Visual Arts where and when it suits you. You can choose to immerse yourself in on-campus study or learn your subject theory online and attend campus when necessary - the choice is yours.
