Accessing your assessment on StudyDesk during the Alternate Assessment period

This semester, UniSQ is providing alternatives to the traditional supervised exams held at exam centres, so you can complete all your assessment online.

Your new alternate assessment schedule may include online exams and take-home exams, all accessible on StudyDesk. The University is actively looking for indicators of academic misconduct in student assessment submissions, so you are expected to act honestly and ethically in all your academic work and assessment tasks by only presenting work you have completed yourself.

To help you prepare, we are going to take you through how to access your assessment on StudyDesk and what to do if you experience any issues during this time. The exams will be available to you for 48 hours according to the opening and closing dates and times on your alternate assessment schedule. You may decide when, during the 48 hour period, you want to start your exam.

Ensure you allow yourself enough time to complete the exam before the closing date and closing time. Once started you will have a limited amount of time to complete and submit your answers.

To start your exam, go to the navigation menu and click on Assessment. You will find your exam clearly labelled. To navigate between pages, use the next and previous page buttons.

Depending on your course, you will be given a range of options, such as entering text in a text box, attaching a Word document for an essay response, attaching a PDF document to show handwritten working or notes, selecting the correct response in a multiple-choice question or entering numbers in a calculated question.

Once you have finished your attempt, you need to click submit. If you run out of time, your exam will automatically submit with everything you have responded with up to that time.
If you experience connectivity issues, do not panic, 24 hour support is available to you during the entire alternate assessment period.
