Our Electrical Power Engineering programs are aimed at the safe, reliable and sustainable generation, transmission, distribution and utilisation of electrical energy. As a USQ student, you will have access to state of the art laboratories such as the Metering and Protection Laboratory, the Energy Systems Laboratory and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Laboratory.
Our extensive links with industry and the opportunity to complete practical projects allows you to gain valuable hands-on experience while you are still studying. Final year projects have included Hydroelectric generators for third world countries and IEC61850 based SCADA for a 275 kV substation.
USQ’s programs are fully accredited by Engineers Australia, and are recognised worldwide.
After graduating from a Power Engineering degree, you’ll be open to a vast range of careers as a Power Engineering Technologist or Electrical Power Technologist working in various fields including mining and transportation as well as solar and renewable industries.
